Sweet! Nice work with the ketamine! I recently got a small fishbone from vallecula using topical sedation with nebulized lidocaine, topical lidocaine and a super chill/cooperative patient!

1. Was anything other than ketamine used to avoid gag reflex in this patient?
2. When using only ketamine, how often is the gag maintained?
Thank you.
Jess Mason - June 24, 2019 10:37 AM
Just ketamine was used and there was no gag. Some patients don't have gag reflexes at baseline.

Thanks! So, if this patient had a gag after giving ketamine, what would be an appropriate next step?
