As a PGY3 resident I thought this was an extremely useful lecture! I independently started placing follow up calls to discharged patients I was a little worried about on my following shift (elderly, headaches, chest pain). At first I was nervous people might keep me on the phone forever with a million questions or be upset that their symptoms haven't improved but I've yet to experience that. People generally seem appreciative of the call. I like the Google Voice tip and I think I'll start using them!
Great talk. Incorporates a great deal of the lessons I have learned in my 19 years of practicing emergency medicine and also the lessons I teach medical students, APP's and nurses on a daily basis.
