Hi Craig, The main outcomes were proximal DVT or PE within 180 days of diagnosis of the calf clot. Breaking this down further, there were 7 proximal clots in the control group and 4 in the anticoag group. As far as those with PE resulting from a calf clot - was there proximal extension before the PE happened? That was not clarified in the paper.

Did the study correlate the PE pts with the "extension" pts. In other words, was it the extension pts that went on to have PE?
