Important to remember that proximal biceps tendon ruptures are usually treated non-operatively (especially in the elderly) and typically only surgically repaired for cosmetic reasons in younger adults.
Complete DISTAL biceps tendon ruptures are different and should be fixed urgently (<4 weeks). The Hook Test is a good physical exam maneuver to assess for the distal tendons integrity!
