Think those infiltrates are pneumonia? They probably are, but in the patient taking amiodarone, consider drug related pulmonary toxicity.

So you make the leap toward pulmonary toxicity from amiodarone, what should be done about the atrial fibrillation prophylaxis for stroke?

Good thought on atrial fibrillation and stroke prophylaxis - the subject of anticoagulation for prevention of stroke in patients in afib according to CHADS2 or other criteria is a diffent issue than use of amiodarone and has pretty definitively shown that the benefits exceed the risks. -Michael Weinstock
