Whats the disposition for someone in which your using a figure 8 or purse string suture to control the bleeding? Watch for 30 mins and discharge? Are dialysis centers removing the sutures prior to their next session, or are you having patients come back for removal after a specified timeframe?
If you control the bleeding they are discharged. The sutures are removed by the dialysis unit at their next visit. Getting the figure of 8 sutures out can be a challenge and it is usually easiest to use a # 11 scalpel. This is why the buttons are so much nicer.

No, do not go under shunt !!!!
That will ligate the shunt.
You need to go into the shunt just around the puncture site.
Also, make sure you use a non-cutting needle.
