Interested in prednisone use in hives. It is commonly prescribed in short like 3 day courses but my derm friends say it should be anti-histamines and when used for prolonged hives it should be a 10-14 day course to prevent rebound.

Great question, Bruce. I don't think we have a good answer on this. I see steroids prescribed all the time here (and I've done it myself) but I don't think there's good data to drive that practice. I would be interested if there's stuff in the derm lit on this.
