Yep, this is a rock star diagnosis to make and the treatment, recovery are usually rewarding. I was first introduced to this in 1984 (yes, ticks were alive then!) during first year of residency when a 8 year old girl came in with an ascending weakness. Consulted neurology, etc and we were all flummoxed until a fellow (“woodsy type”) resident found the tick on her scalp under her thick dark hair. Removed it and complete recovery in 6 hours.
