These suckers are frustrating and have a very high recurrence rate. Referral to a hand surgeon (if the patient is really bothered by the cyst) is probably the best course of action. If you do choose to aspirate, steroids don't help decrease the recurrence rate. Some people do it as it *may* help with joint mobility and wrist function (although, again, controversial).

If a patient wants to pursue aspiration, any benefit to putting a little Kenalog in there as well?
