"Stage I: Place femoral arterial (5 Fr) and venous (9 Fr) resuscitation lines.
Stage II: Place cannulas if the patient is an ECMO candidate. Replace the sheaths with long ECMO wires (0.035 cm diameter, >145 cm long). Verify wire location using one of the following methods: 1) Ultrasound: one wire in IVC and one wire in aorta, or, 2) Fluoroscopy: one wire on either side of the spine. "
