You covered a paper done some colleagues of mine a few years ago in paper chase (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31386199/) and I remember everyone in the US being very sceptic about no AB in uncomplicated diverticulitis. We have been doing this now for 5+ years in Sweden and it's not controversial at all. Even patients with moderate diverticultis go home with dietary advice (liquids only until symptoms resolve) and no AB. Labs doesn't really matter if the patient looks good. With repeat diverticulitis we don't even do a CT if the patient looks ok. Get with the program guys! ;)
Do you take their temperature at all and what about the elderly people in long term care aged facilities and those with co-morbidities like diabetics ?
