A key point in suturing defects in AV fistulas is to be sure to use a non-cutting needle, such as a taper point. I will soon be releasing a video on this and Al Sacchetti has a great one as well. Do not use a cutting needle as it can cause more damage to the fistula. Great topic and thanks for covering it!
