- Mucosal outgrowths in the upper nasal cavity
- Gray grape appearance
- Symptoms
- Sneezing
- Obstruction
- Rhinorrhea
- Decreased sense of smell
Clinical Findings
- Diagnosis
- History
- Physical exam
- CT if diagnosis is unclear or in severe disease
- Nasal polyps in children
- Rare
- Rule out cystic fibrosis
Management
- First-line therapy
- Severe symptoms/concomitant chronic sinusitis
- Short course of oral steroids followed by intranasal steroids
- Surgery
- Little benefit if already treated with intranasal steroids
