What about the diabetic patient who is also an alcoholic who presents with an AGMA - can a diabetic patient developed AKA or do they have sufficient glycogen stores to prevent this and how would you distinguish between them as the AGMA and the ketone level may be identical between both conditions - or would you treat for both - IV fluids, dextrose and insulin as you cannot distinguish between them by labs
