Finally used ketamine for novel problem for me; patient came after shooting heroin and developed "cotton fever." Patient was SCREAMING nonstop cause the pain the cotton fever causes (had to look this up). So I tried ketamine, under dosed at first and it didn't last long. Did once more and it worked great....to the satisfaction of patient, myself, ER staff and other patients. We have been but slow to try ketamine but love it now!!!
