Sometimes I will stiffen the tube with a pediatric ET tube stylet. It makes the g-tube less “bendy”, but you still have to use gentle amounts of pressure. No jamming it in.
NS for the balloon vs sterile water? We typically place foley's in our shop and then to IR for replacement so I have not read the manufacturers recommendations in quite some time.
Thought the same thing. Sterile water is preferred so that balloon can be removed in the future. NS tends to form crystals potentially making balloon deflation difficult. At least that is what I was always taught.

These things usually come with printed instructions in the box that say what to use.
