Remember these pearls: warm the anesthetic to room temperature, inject through the wound edge (not the intact skin), travel along the wound margin with the needle to minimize the total number of injections, inject into the dermis, look for infiltration and blanching of tissue, and remember to give it time to work!

Hey Jess, do you ever use bicarbonate to decrease the pain of the injection?

You can. I prefer to just put the vial in my pocket for a few minutes to warm it up. It’s one less thing to order and mix.
