Jaw Reduction by Wrist Pivot Maneuver

To do a jaw reduction using the wrist pivot maneuver, start by wrapping your fingertips with rolled gauze or foam tape. Place your thumbs on the patient's chin and your fingers on their lower molars. Pivot your wrists in the ulnar direction until the jaw slides back into place. Pain medication may help. Sedation is typically not needed.
