David R. M., M.D. -

Great review on an important toxin that still kills people. Had an unfortunate lady a few years ago who presented in status epilepticus. Airway obtained early with ativan for seizures, blood gas obtained with pH around 7.0 Boyfriend provided history of missing bottle of aspirin as she proceeded to arrest. Everybody practicing very long has a horror story to tell about this toxin.

L. Potts -

I had one also. Probably 25-20 years ago. A lady jumped off a bridge, survived her trauma. Admitted and appeared to go into sepsis with high fever etc. Died of an ASA overdose which had not been checked for. She was trying to be sure and it worked.
