Jacques R. P., M.D. -

I would like to point out a slight error in your history of the sun and humans' understanding of it. You stated that it was not until about 500BC that people began to think that the sun was something other than a deity. I believe that date to be incorrect in that the book of Genesis in the Bible, written approxiamtely 1500-1600BC by Moses, states that the sun, moon, and stars are objects created by God. So the notion that the sun is something other than a deity is really a much older one, and a notion that is plainly stated for anyone willing to read it.
