Some small reports, but no big comparison studies yet. My experience is as follows using both BiPAP and HFNC. Extremely effective for infants and children. Took the laryngoscope out of my hands on an number of bad bronchiolitics this winter. For adults, great for COPD, very very good for pulmonary fibrosis, asthma still getting experience with it, for CHF, BIPAP is definitely better.
Much cheaper than BiPAP unit, about $3,500-$4,000 for a unit. Tubing and cannula run about $100.

Has it been compared to bipap or cpap? Also, how much does this thing costs?
