David Barounis calls in about an earlier stroke intervention discussion, raising some bad science red flags.
Bravo David!!!David not only needs to come to Mel's house, he needs to move in and stay there during his fellowship, just to keep Mel on his toes.
Outstanding commentary. Telestroke programs are being used to get neurologist to bedside in rural communities - this is great if it helps patient and family diagnose stroke, avoid TPA when not indicated and improve stroke care. But if used to ship patients long distances by air to stroke centers that use neuro interventional therapies, I fear this data indicates they may have been better off before telestroke.
