The Mailbag response by Ken Starr to the question about drugs approved to treat Opiod Use Disorder (OUD) lists Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) and methadone as the only meds FDA approved for treatment. There is another FDA approved form of burprenorphine without the naloxone called Subutex. This drug is typically used in pregnancy, but not specifically FDA approved for use in pregnancy.

Yes. You are correct. Suboxone is a brand name combination product. The approved drug is actually buprenoprhine with or without naloxone.
