Sugar solutions can be applied, but this tactic was not successful in this case. Gentle pressure can also be attempted. For this patient reduction was achieved with manual pressure into the lumen. Stool softeners and follow up with GI for a scope are recommended to consider a scope for a mass causing a lead point.

impressive prolapse. I guess ketamine, or even a brief deep sedation with propofol might be worthwhile.

What about using granulated sugar directly on the tissue to absorb extra fluid and then attempt reduction, instead of a 50% solution of dextrose?

I've used granulated sugar twice in this context and it has worked beautifully
