A prospective, randomized, controlled study of 90 patients with ureteral colic looking at the effect of sexual interruose on ureteral stone expulsion. The results? Impressive!
Stone passage rate at 2 weeks
Symptomatic treatment 34.8%
Tamsulosin 47.6 %
Sexual intercourse 3-4 times per week 83.9%
Authors’ conclusion: Patients who have distal ureteral stones ≤6 mm and a sexual partner may be advised to have sexual intercourse 3-4 times a week to increase the probability of spontaneous passage of the stones.

With the cost of tamsulosin and potential savings in decreased procedures, would a trip to our fine state of NV with it's liberal views on professional sex workers be cost effective for medicare/medicaid?
