Lacerations near a joint need to be considered for possible traumatic arthrotomy (violation of the joint capsule), which is at very high risk for developing a septic joint and needs to be washed out in the operating room. This video shows a case of a traumatic arthrotomy of the knee and the radiology findings that confirm this diagnosis.
